LAWTON—Funeral services for Rayetta Sims Middleton Willis, age 58, will be at 11 A.M.--Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Davis Chapel A.M.E. Church (602 NW Birch Street), in Lawton, with Rev. Edith Hill, pastor and Rev. Cynthia D. L. Petties, officiating.
Viewing & Family Visitation:  10 a.m. to 7p.m.—Monday, May 3, 2010 at the funeral home (101 West Gore Blvd.), in Lawton.
Rayetta Sims Middleton Willis died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 in Norman, Oklahoma. Burial will be in Fort Sill National Cemetery, in Elgin, under the direction of Jefferson Funeral Home, Inc.
She was born June 1, 1951 to Charles and Etta Sims in Blair, South Carolina. She spent her early childhood in Columbia, South Carolina where she grew up with adopted parents Malachi and Annie Mae Middleton. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Columbia; and loved the high school band. She married Retired Army Sergeant First Class William James Willis, of Louisa, Virginia on November 15, 1974. She was employed as a food service worker for over 20 plus years. She loved ceramics as a hobby.  
SURVIVORS INCLUDE:  her husband, William Willis, Sr., of Lawton; three (3) sons: Nathaniel C. Breland and Brian L. Middleton, of Columbia, South Carolina and William J. Willis, II, of Lawton; four (4) daughters: Deidre M. Breland, VanNessa T. Barrett, and Christina L. Sims, of Columbia, South Carolina and LaTricha C. Willis, of Lawton; a son-in-law: MSG George P. Barrett , of Columbia, South Carolina; four (4) brothers and sisters-in-law: Charlie (Hattie) Sims; Arthur (Mary) Sims; Nathaniel (Sharon) Sims, Jimmy Lee (Betty) Sims; one (1) sister and brother-in-law: Mamie Helen (Bobby) Woodward; all of Blair, South Carolina; fourteen (14) grandchildren; many nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Melvin Sims.
